Costa Rica Tarrazu Coffee
With a spicy, rich aroma and sharp acidity, this Costa Rica Tarrazu Coffee has a full-body with just a hint of smokiness and delivers a sweetly smooth finish.
Coast Rica is bisected by a series of volcanic mountain chains, which creates a high altitude plain with low costal lowlands in the center of the country. The resulting topography yields the perfect conditions for Costa Rica’s coffee crop to flourish. Similar to Guatemala’s growing regions, Costa Rica harvests its crop at altitudes over 3,900 feet on its 130,000 large and small farms. Harvesting Costa Rica Tarrazu occurs from December through February, when the coffee is collected, washed and drum dried. Try out Costa Rica Tarrazu today!
Over a century ago, it was Costa Rican mandate for every family to grow several coffee bushes on their land, and large plots were given to those willing to devote themselves to the cultivation of this crop. Among them was Manuel Rojas Arias, a successful coffee grower who inspired other farmers to convert their own sugar plantations into coffee farms.
